  • Resort bookings were managed manually via phone calls and walk-ins, causing double bookings and revenue loss.
  • No online payment option — guests had to pay on-site, limiting booking accessibility.
  • Admins had no mobile access to manage reservations while away from the front desk.
  • Codebase was written without standards, making maintenance and feature additions error-prone and slow.
  • No role separation — all staff had unrestricted access to sensitive booking and financial data.

Solution

  • Built an online booking system with real-time availability calendars and automated reservation confirmations.
  • Integrated PayMongo SDK for secure online payments — guests can fully book and pay before arrival.
  • Developed a React Native Expo companion app for admins to manage bookings from any mobile device.
  • Followed PSR-12 coding standards with Services, Repositories, Actions, Traits, and Enums for a clean, maintainable codebase.
  • Implemented Laravel Sanctum with Jetstream for authentication and strict role-based access control across all portals.
